The main reason for doing a bible read-through is to get familiar with the bible as a whole and start to see the big picture of God’s extravagant love.
The bible may be made up of 66 books with many different authors but as we read it at a pace we see the amazing unity of message over several thousand years.
Reading at a pace is a totally different experience from an in-depth study. We are not trying to “understand everything” but instead stand under the “shower” of God’s word and get drenched by it. We’re not worried about the rest of the water running away!
One of the advantages of reading at a pace is that you don’t get bogged down in a particular place. This comes in handy in some areas where the rhythm of doing a bible in a year can get disheartening.

In turn, read out your highlighted verses to each other and pray at the end for each other.
If you read 10 chapters a day you will complete in about three months.
Following the chronological guide below is a great way of orientating yourself to the bigger picture, and everyone likes a tick sheet to cross off don’t they!
