We're a people who centre everything we do around the good news of Jesus Christ. We treasure Jesus above everything else (Matt 22v37) and we treasure his written word the bible. We wholeheartedly believe the bible is relevant in every area of our lives today (2 Timothy 3v16-17). We also wholeheartedly believe in the Person and work of the Holy Spirit actively at work in our lives (John 14v26).

We're a people who want to have love for everyone, and particularly for those on the fringes of society and this desire leads to action. We have a deep conviction that we must demonstrate our faith through compassionate action. We believe there is a gospel mandate to reach into challenging areas of society. (Matt 22v39, James 2v26, Micah 6v8, Isaiah 1v17).

We're a people who prioritise building strong working relationships with community organisations, charities and other churches. As our name suggests, we want to work together with other organisations and churches wherever possible. We want to work with other churches in the Bay, recognising that we're only a small part of the body of Christ. (Luke 10v6, Romans 13).

We're a church that works hard to be united and are moving forward together. We believe in ‘togetherness’ wholeheartedly. We are a church on mission together. Doing Life Together. Loving one another (John 13v35, Ephesians 4v3-6). Unity within the Church was very important to Jesus, (look at his prayer in John 17!) and therefore it’s very important to us!

We're a part of Commission, a growing family of churches in the UK, Portugal, Spain, Serbia, South Asia, USA, Ghana, Philippines, Brazil and Middle East.
Commission is a sphere of the wider Newfrontiers movement, that’s grown to hundreds of churches all around the world.
Leadership Team
Pete Clayton - Lead Elder
Pete is married to Esther and they have 3 children. They moved as a family from Southampton at the beginning of 2019 and Pete leads the team here at Together Church. Pete has a passion for the word of God and combining that with a compassionate mission. He has a heart to see the churches of Torbay working together to reach the lost. He loves swimming in the sea, walking and football with his kids.
Steve Thieman - Elder
Steve has been part of the church since it started in 1998. Steve continues to be at the heart of the church now and leads and serves the church alongside Pete. He works in international banking, working mainly from home. He is married to Cathy and they have three children. When he gets a spare moment Steve loves to be outdoors - you will find him camping, fishing or strolling on a beach.

Greg moved from West Sussex to Torquay in 2019 to be a part of Together Church. He's married to Becky and together they have four children. His favourite thing about working in the church is seeing people brought into the church family. In his spare time he loves to spend time with his wife and children up at Dartmoor, or at one of the local beaches in the Bay!

Stacey is married to Jon and together they've been a part of the church since 2015. They have 3 children who keep them busy, they love movies, fun days out and finding as much stuff to laugh about as possible! As the children and family worker, you'll most likely find Stacey hanging around with our fabulous 0-18's in various capacities.

Cathy is married to Steve and together they've been a part of the church since 1998 when it started. Her favourite thing about working at the church is that she is at the hub of church life, meeting many people who walk through our doors each week. In her spare time you will find Cathy enjoying a run, going out on walks, and also reading.

Liam has been a part of the church since May 2023. As the church intern you will find him helping wherever is needed. In his spare time Liam enjoys playing football and going for runs along the coast. His favourite thing about being the church intern is that he gets to serve the church alongside studying the word of God.
